Tatarstan beginner farmers are helped to develop entrepreneurial potential

From 15 to 17th of March in Kazan was held a training  at the School of a young entrepreneur (novice farmer). The event was organized by the Agrarian Youth Association of the Republic of Tatarstan in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan by the subprogram of the Rural Youth of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014-2020.

The main goal of the event was the development of entrepreneurial potential in practice, training of those who want to start their business in the peasant farming, the formation of their knowledge and skills necessary to successful start of their own business, mastering business planning skills and promoting entrepreneurship among rural youth .

The training took place in the Volga Youth Center. The school was attended by 60 young people aged from 18 to 35 years old who want to start their own business in the field of agriculture, as well as heads of peasant farms working for less than one year and students of agricultural universities.

During three days of the School, young people could ask questions to experts and get answers about support programs for beginning farmers, subsidies for family livestock farms, grants and learn how to successfully participate in them.

On the first day, the School participants had a meeting with representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the republic. They discussed the involvement of young people in rural development and the work of the financial and economic mechanism to support the development of small business.

The educational program continued at the Volga youth center. Here, school participants listened to a lecture on business planning for start-up entrepreneurs, based on the conditions of economic activity of peasant farms, farmsteads and other agricultural producers.

The participants visited the farms of Laishevsky and Rybno - Slobodsky districts, which became winners of the grant competition of previous years and received grants for the development of private farms. Among them are Laishevsky Shampignon LLC, KFH Batyrshin (breeding sturgeon fish species), KFH Gabitov Ruzal Malikovich (cattle breeding, dairy production) and KFH Gabdriev Danil Gabdelkhaevich (growing grain crops).

“This is a cluster that is not busy today. There are many ways of development in this direction, but there are many difficulties - feed and specialists, ”shared her impressions of the sturgeon farm Aigul Khismatullina from the Menzelinsky district”.

 “The trip was very efficient. I liked the dairy production farm. I plan to work in this area. During my visit to the dairy farm, I learned all the nuances, advantages and disadvantages of this type of production, which will make it possible to make fewer mistakes in the future, ”said a school member from Chistopolsky district Daut Khakimov.

At the end of the second day Boris Fetisov, Chairman of the Board of the Kazan Zilantkon Ipractic Center organized a business game for the participants .

Over the course of three days, the participants analyzed business activities and developed prospects for the development of peasant farms. On the last day, a presentation of the final works took place, after which all were awarded with certificates of advanced training in the basics of rural business planning.

“I participated in school for the first time. I would like this kind of event to be held zonally and more often. I think that it would be interesting not only for start-up entrepreneurs, but also for students and all young villagers, ”said Artak Mikaelyan, a farmer from the Bavly region.
