Seed growing was discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A session on seed growing took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The session was held by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Gabrdakhmanov. The following officials also participated in it: Chief of the branch of FSBI “State variety commission” of the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaliy Novichkov, Director Deputy of the branch of FSBI “Russian agricultural center” of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, General Director of “Elite Tatarstan seeds” Association Yuriy Egorov, Director of the separate business unit at Tatar Science and Research Institute for Agriculture Marsel Tagirov, Director Deputy of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Fatterakhmanov.

At the session, the participants discussed the existing system of seed breeding, the work under licensed contracts with Tatar Science and Research Institute for Agriculture – the separate business unit of the Russian Academy of Science, documentation on seeds, etc.

Following the results of the session, it was decided to ratify the changes in the existing system of seed breeding of grains and pulses.

An agreement was signed with the branch of FSBI “Russian agricultural center” of the Republic of Tatarstan on the terms to render free services for agricultural producers within the limits set for 2018 and the order to give certificates.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan together with FSBI “State variety commission” of the Republic of Tatarstan are to make the list of perennial grasses varieties and to send letters to originators with the aim to be included into the plan of the state variety testing before the sowing season starts in the current year.
