The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan defined the agricultural varieties for regional assignment in 2018

Today a session on regional assignment of agricultural varieties was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The session was chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Gabdrakhmanov.

The following officials took part in the session: Branch Chief of the FSBI “Gossortokomissia” (“State Variety Commission”) of the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaliy Novichkov, Director of the FSBSI “Tatar Institute for Agro-Business Personnel Development” Marsel Tagirov, Director Deputy of the branch of “Rosselkhoxcenter” (“Russia’s Agricultural Center”) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Khabibullin, Director General of the Association “Elite Tatarstan Seeds” Yuriy Erov, specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatartstan, Directorate of the Federal service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Republic of Tatarstan, scientists and crop breeders of the FSBSI “Tatar Institute for Agro-Business Personnel Development”, heads of state variety test plots, specialists of agro holding companies and agricultural institutions and organizations.

Branch Chief of the FSBI “Gossortokomissia” of the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaliy Novichkov reported on testing of agricultural varieties. He presented the testing results of new and prospective varieties of winter rye, winter and spring wheat, oat, peas and other agricultural crops.

Vitaliy Novichkov said that over 1,500 varieties of agricultural crops were being tested on variety test plots in Tatarstan. Within 3 latest years regional assignment for 20 varieties of grains and pulses was carried out by the FSBI “Gossortokomissia” in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Following the results of the session, the commission offered the following agricultural varieties for regional assignment: winter wheat “Basis”, “Poem”, “Universiade”, spring wheat “Ekaterina”, barley “In memory of Chepelev”, French millet “Varyag”, “Krestyanka 2015”, potato “Tango”, “Babushka”.

At the end of the session, Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov conferred the decoration of “Honored variety test person” on Head of Arsk variety test plot Fanis Zaripov.
