Today a weekly session with the participation of directors of business subdivisions and subordinate enterprises took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The session was held by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov.
One of the key-note issues for discussion was the harvesting campaign in Tatarstan. It was noted that 3,929,100 tons of grain had been milled in the republic at the average crop yield of 35.1 dt/ha. 1,120,000 ha of fields with grains and pulses had been thrashed (72% of the plan). “There are about 400,000 ha of fields with grains left to be cleared, - noted Marat Akhmetov. – At the same time, a difficult period for harvesting has come. However, we should not wait for favourable weather in September. It is vital to assume all necessary measures to finish the harvesting campaign successfully”.
The minister also asked the participants of the session to inform agriculturalists about the present situation and to encourage them to work hard.
