Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: agricultural enterprises have produced 1,168,100 tons of milk and 345,900 tons of meat for 11 months of 2017

A session devoted to the cattle breeding records for 11 months of 2017 took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today. The session was held by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov.

Specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chief State Agricultural Directorate for Pedigree animal breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, cattle breeding consultants and chiefs of selective-brood offices of regional agricultural directorates participated in the session.

Director Deputy of the Department of Cattle Breeding Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Gelyus Bayazitov informed the participants of the session about the possibilities to increase productivity of a milk herd. He said that the Ministry’s working party had developed the process procedure – “Breeding of high-producing first-calf heifers in the Republic of Tatarstan”. Gelyus Bayazitov spoke in details about the issues of cow preparation for calving, breeding of calves, the terms for insemination, the veterinary service, etc. “The most favourable age for the insemination of heifers is 14 months old”, - he said.

After that Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov gave a report on the cattle breeding records for 11 months of 2017.

According to his words, as of December 1, 2017, the livestock population in Tatarstan agricultural enterprises and farm households was 733,300 heads, including 244,400 cows, 1,168,100 tons of milk had been received (105% compared with the previous year level), 345,900 tons of meat and poultry had been produced (102%). The average milk yield per cow for 11 months of 2017 was 5,012 kg (105%).

The livestock population has increased in Zainsk, Zelenodolsk, Baltasi, Kukmor, Novosheshminsk, Saby, Buinsk and some other municipal districts of the republic. The biggest increase in milk production is in Zainsk, Atnya, Kukmor, Alkeevo, Rybnaya Sloboda, Sarmanovo and Tyulyachi municipal districts.

After that, Head of the Chief State Agricultural Directorate for Pedigree Animal Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Zaripov made a speech and presented the pedigree cattle breeding records to the participants of the session.
