Every week we write about people who have opened their business in the countryside with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. One of them is the Akhmetkhanov family from the Arsky district.

“I am the youngest child in the family. My father always said that I would stay in the village, in his house. Therefore, I never thought to leave the village. While studying at 7-8 grades he worked on a combine. After the army he drove a car, then worked as a mechanic, engineer. He graduated from the Atninsk State Farm College, Agricultural Institute. Then he decided to try himself in farming. First he rented 27 hectares of unit land, which he sowed with perennial grasses. However, there was no profit. He decided to build a family farm. He got a refrigerator, conveyor and other equipment. In 2013, under the program “Development of family livestock farms in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2012-2014,” he received a subsidy of 900 thousand rubles.

Currently, the farmer has 50 heads of cattle (25 dairy cows, the rest - heifers and calves), 200 hectares of land (pays a thousand rubles per hectare for rent), 10 units of agricultural machinery. “Under the special program, the state subsidized 40 percent of the cost of equipment,” said the farmer. In 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan allocated 280 thousand rubles for this.

Last year, farmers got a rich harvest, which was enough for implementation. The daily milk yield reaches up to 400 liters, 17-18 liters per cow. There are no problems with the sale - they hand it over by 25–26 rubles per liter to the dairy plant.

“We work as a family. Guzel is a milkmaid, children help us. We have one employee who is paying wages. I do the rest myself. Now I am busy repairing equipment, getting ready for spring sowing. In the autumn-spring season, I hire more workers”, Fanis shares. - Diligent people in the village live well. For sure, you have to perform accordingly. But I have nothing to complain about. ”

“I agree. We built a two-story house. All the amenities are created. According to the program of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan “Sustainable Development of Rural Territories” in 2018, we received 800 thousand rubles for construction. I have to do my best, but for myself”, Guzel joins her husband’s words.

We remind you that by the national project “Support for Small and Medium Enterprises”, beginning farmers of Tatarstan can receive a grant for opening their own business under the program of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan “Agrostartup” up to 6 million rubles. Applications are accepted until March 31.
