Construction of potato processing plant in Tatarstan discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A possibility to construct a potato processing plant in Arsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan was discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The following officials took part in the meeting: Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Ministers Ildus Gabdrakhmanov and Talgat Tagirzyanov, Director General at the Chief Directorate Askhat Sharapov, Head of Arsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilshat Nuriev, Director General at OOO “Service-Agro” Gabdelkhai Karimov, Director General at OOO “Dal-Kama” Zelenodolsk meat processing complex” Gocha Kvaratskheliya, representatives of “McKein” company Financial Director Alen Dyuranlo and Technical Director Ronald Muller, etc.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov spoke on potato cultivation in the republic. “A lot of potato is produced in Tatarstan, but its quality differs. Potato is cultivated both by agricultural producers and private households. At the same time, we are improving the technology of potato cultivation”, - noted Marat Akhmetov.

The minister assured that in case it is decided to construct the potato processing plant in Tatarstan, companies will get support from the government. “We are ready to put the project into life”, - stated the minister.

Agricultural Vice President at “McKein” company Philipp Teri said that he saw Tatarstan potential to implement such a project. Before the meeting, the company representatives had examined activities of one of the largest potato manufacturing enterpises OOO “Kyrlai” Agro Firm” in Arsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. On June 15, they are visiting OOO “Dal-Kama” Zelenodolsk meat processing complex”.

Philipp Teri stated that the final decision concerning construction of the potato processing plant in Tatarstan would be made by the directorate of “McKein” company. If it is a positive decision, further discussion will be held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
