Tatarstan entered the TOP 5 organic regions of Russia

18 January 2024, Thursday

Roskachestvo presented an updated rating of constituent entities of the Russian Federation by the number of certified producers of organic products. The number of organic regions has increased over the past year. Now the Republic of Adygea, Irkutsk region, Yamalo-Nenets and Moscow are present on the organic map of the country. Organic products are products grown or manufactured without the use of synthetic pesticides, synthetic mineral fertilizers, antibiotics, growth hormones and other things. In Russia, only obtaining a certificate from an accredited body gives the manufacturer the right to call their products organic and label them accordingly by placing the “Organic” sign (a white sheet on a light green background) on the packaging.

At the beginning of 2024, the championship, according to Roskachestvo, is still held by the Voronezh region. There are 14 certified organic producers in the region. Second place was shared by the Krasnodar Territory and the Moscow Region - 13 manufacturers each. The top three are completed by the Novosibirsk, Yaroslavl and Kaluga regions - 8 manufacturers each.

Next come the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra, the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Tatarstan (7 producers each) and the Altai Territory (6 producers). The Republic of Adygea made a breakthrough this year (4 new manufacturers were certified for 2023).
