14 August 2020, Friday

On August 14, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev visited the Udmurt Republic. The main topic of the visit was the implementation of the state program "Comprehensive Development of Rural Areas", which was launched in 2020. In particular, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture visited the new House of Culture in the village of Sosnovka, where he held a meeting, during which he assessed the progress and preliminary results of the first months of the state program.

As Dmitry Patrushev noted, the process of large-scale changes of this year has affected hundreds of rural areas in our country. “In 2020, 132 projects are being implemented, including the construction, repair and reconstruction of social facilities and infrastructure, landscaping, procurement of vehicles and much more. In fact, the state program is a significant step in the global development of the Russian countryside, where a quarter of the population of our country lives. Let me remind you that the development of the state program was based on the results of the Ministry of Agriculture's assessment of the current state of all rural areas of Russia in the main areas that determine the level of comfort of citizens' life, ”said Dmitry Patrushev.

According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, in the current conditions, new trends are forming, affecting the economy of rural areas. So, due to the massive transition to remote operation, the urban population thinks about moving to the countryside. Therefore, it is very important that even in spite of the difficult situation in the economy, the instruments of the state program "Comprehensive Development of Rural Areas" confirm their effectiveness.

As noted at the meeting, the regions' declared need for events funding in 2020 amounted to more than 140 billion rubles, which is almost 6 times higher. For its part, the Ministry of Agriculture continues to work out the issue of increasing funding for the state program for subsequent periods. Also, the department is already preparing proposals to extend its implementation until at least 2030.

Separately, Dmitry Patrushev noted the enormous popularity among both rural and urban population of one of the key instruments of the State Program - preferential rural mortgage. It has already been used by 15.6 thousand borrowers in 80 cities of the Russian Federation, and the volume of loans issued is over 27 billion rubles. At the same time, more than 215 billion rubles of applications were received by banks from more than 100 thousand people.

In Tatarstan, 699 families took advantage of the preferential rural mortgage program.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Patrushev noted that work to achieve the goals of the state program should be continued and significantly intensified in the second half of the year.

During the working trip, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture also inspected the site of the cultural and leisure center under construction and got acquainted with the progress of the overhaul of the stadium in the village of Sharkan. Together with the new House of Culture in the village of Sosnovka, these objects will become centers for the development of creativity, education and sports in the Sharkansky district of the Udmurt Republic.
