Tatarstan agricultural producers may receive subsidies for the purchase of mineral fertilizers

20 January 2020, Monday

In Tatarstan, agricultural producers can receive budgetary funds for the purchase of mineral fertilizers for the 2020 crop. The money will be received by farms that accumulate at least 35 kg of the active substance of mineral fertilizers per hectare of sown area.

This year, the task was set to accumulate over 70 kg of active substance per hectare. Therefore, areas with low rates need to be activated.

As of January 15, the total number of fertilizers in the country in terms of active ingredient is over 54,682 tons or 19.5 kg of active substance per hectare of crops, which is slightly higher than in 2019. As of this date last year, the accumulated resources in the republic amounted to 17.1 kg a.v. per hectare.

According to the latest data, Tetyushsky district’s farms have accumulated 3441 tons of mineral fertilizers or 47.7 kg a.a. per hectare of crops (68.2% of the forecast), Zainsky district 3131 tons or 45.6 kg (66.6) and the Sarmanovsky district 3172 tons or 40.1 kg (57.3%). Good indicators are also in the Sabinsky, Mamadyshsky, Nizhnekamsky, Tukaevsky, Atninsky, Aznakaevsky, Buinsky, Kukmorsky districts.

“Given the annual seasonal fluctuations in the prices of mineral fertilizers, work in this direction needs to be strengthened now, while there is the opportunity to purchase fertilizers at competitive prices,” said the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov during the weekly meeting.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan recalls that mineral fertilizers are the basis for obtaining high crop yields and replenishing the removal of mineral elements from the soil. Fertilizers not only increase productivity, but also improve its quality: the content of sugars, fats and proteins, as well as biologically active substances, increases. Therefore,  it is necessary to pay more attention to the areas where the work on the accumulation of mineral fertilizers is carried out in insufficient volume.
