Marat Zyabbarov met with a delegation from Palestine

On December 9, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov met with a delegation from Palestine led by Hebron Governor Djibrin Ilyas Abed AL-BAKRI. The visit of the delegation to Tatarstan was organized by the International Association of Islamic Business.

Marat Zyabbarov presented to the guests the potential of the agricultural sector of Tatarstan. “The Republic takes a leading position in the Russian Federation in the production of livestock products, 1st place in milk production, 6th in grain and 8th in meat, poultry and eggs. The cattle stock in Tatarstan is about 1 million, 345 thousand of which - cows. We produce an average of 3.5 thousand tons of milk per day, 2.8 thousand tons are processed in our republic at dairy plants. This year we collected 4.4 million tons of grain crops, 2.8 million tons of sugar beets. The republic also has its own plant for processing sunflower, rapeseed and oil production. Tatarstan is fully self-sufficient in food, ready for exporting products, ”said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Palestinian side expressed interest in importing food products. “The plans for the next year is to import grain of wheat and corn in the amount of 400 thousand tons, sunflower oil. We are also ready to consider other types of products, ”Hebron Djibrin Ilyas Abed AL-BAKRI explained.

Hisham JEBRINI, head of the Hebron dairy, also expressed interest in collaborating.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the delegation would visit the Oil Extraction Plant in Kazan on December 11 and meet with the enterprise’s management on the export of manufactured products to Palestine.
