Today, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of the livestock industry for 8 months of 2019. The meeting was held by Nazip Khazipov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was attended by livestock consultants, heads of breeding services of agricultural and food departments in municipal areas and other responsible persons The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov presented the results of the livestock industry for 8 months. In his speech, he focused on the issues of milk and meat production, as well as the safety of livestock. Today the number of cattle in the republic is 721.5 thousand heads, including cows - 242.5 thousand heads, pigs - 453.1 thousand heads, sheep and goats - 55 thousand heads, birds - 14.9 million animals, horses - 19.9 thousand animals. For 8 months of this year, agricultural enterprises produced 915.6 thousand tons (104%) of milk, 265.6 thousand tons (102%) of meat, including (grown) cattle 65.3 thousand tons (99%) pigs - 60.3 thousand tons (105%), poultry - 138.4 tons (103%). According to the deputy minister, as of August 8, the gross daily milk yield in agricultural enterprises and peasant farms is 3949 kg, which is 104% more than in the same period last year. In addition, during the meeting, the importance of artificial insemination in personal subsidiary plots was noted, which allows improving the pedigree and breeding qualities of cattle. It is the main mean of preventing and improving the herd. The organization of this work was reported by the head of the State Public Institution "State Pedagogical University of Breeding in Livestock Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan" Rishat Zaripov. Also during the meeting, Nazip Khazipov announced the holding of the “Horse Day” holiday, which will be held on September 14 in the Arsk district. As part of the event, horse races for the prizes of the Federation of Horse Riding and Equestrian Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, horse races for the Argamak prize, a horse race for the Rural Dzhigits prize, as well as the Audarysh championship on horseback riding and much more are planned. In addition, in October, training on the management of feeding at dairy farms will be organized for managers and chief livestock specialists of agricultural enterprises from all regions of the republic.
