The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia received exclusive rights to the trademark of organic products

6 August 2019, Tuesday

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan informs that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has received the exclusive rights for the trademark of organic products. The corresponding certificate was issued by Rospatent.

The official sign of Russian organic products will be a white sheet on a green background with the inscription "ORGANIC" in Cyrillic and Latin letters. The presence of this mark on the product will inform consumers that the product and its production comply with national standards of organic farming.

Unlike the bill on environmentally friendly agricultural products, which allows the use of fertilizers, plant protection products, feed and food additives in the group of the safest fertilizers for humans and the environment, the law on organic products, which comes into force in 2020, implies a complete ban on the use of agrochemicals .

Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, together with other authorities, is developing by-laws, including the maintenance of a register of organic producers, several state standards have already been developed.

The introduction of a single labeling model will contribute to improving the quality of products on the domestic market and, in general, the development of the country's agro-industrial complex.

The creation of Russian protected brands of organic and environmentally friendly agricultural products, in combination with other measures provided by the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Agriculture, will solve the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation to increase agricultural exports, as well as improve food quality.
