On July 2, the Kazan Dairy Plant will be opened in Tatarstan after the first stage of modernization.

The development of the dairy industry is a priority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan is confidently leading among the regions of Russia in terms of milk sales.

On July 2, the Kazan Dairy Plant will be opened (part of the KOMOS GROUP agro-holding) after the first stage of modernization. This will allow the city of Kazan and the republic to more fully provide the population with dairy products of local production.

The total investment of the first stage amounted to 1.6 billion rubles. The modernization allowed increasing the production capacity of the plant to 500 tons per day. Until joining the holding in July 2017, the plant was in a state of bankruptcy and was not functioning.

In total, the implementation of an investment project to modernize the plant is planned in three stages from 2017 to 2021 with a total investment of 3.5 billion rubles.

According to the results of this project, the company will reach the processing volumes of 1000 tons of raw milk per day and will become one of the largest milk processing plants in Russia. For the economy of the Republic, this will create more than 1,000 high-performance jobs; tax revenues to budgets of all levels will increase.

During the first stage of reconstruction (July 2017 - July 2019), the company overhauled the production facilities: a milk reception unit with a capacity of 1000 tons per day, a hardware unit with a capacity of 1000 tons per day, a starter department, and a section for the production of UHT products with a capacity of 250 tons per day, a fermentation area with a capacity of 200 tons of dairy products per day, a production area in a PET bottle with a capacity of 200 tons per day; a warehouse of finished products was built and warehouses for auxiliary materials; milk tanker fleet renewed.

The company is equipped with modern high-tech equipment of leading world companies - Tetra Pak (Sweden), Alfa L Service (Sweden), GEA (Germany), Index 6 (Bulgaria), SoyuzHimMash, Protomol, Zvet Plant.

The project is financed by the own funds of the Komos Group agricultural holding and preferential loans of commercial banks (Gazprombank (JSC) and Rosselkhozbank). At stage 1 of the modernization of the enterprise, the share of own funds was 35%, the share of borrowed funds - 65%.
