Horse races "Baiga" with the participation of Tatar horses took place in Leninogorsk district

On May 18, horse races took place on the territory of the Almakay horseyard “Baiga”. The head of the Leninogorsk district, the mayor of the city of Leninogorsk Ryagat Khusainov made a welcoming speech. Among the guests of honor was Nazip Hazipov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

For the guests of the festival, folk games were organized - tug-of-war, “skiing”, archery, shooting from a gun, running with an egg, running in bags. Contests - “Tin Woodman”, “Timerbatyr”, “Kamyrbatyr”, “Arkan”, “Tash Tashlau”. Horse biathlon (horse racing + archery sitting on a horse). The distance is 3.5 km. The national game "Kyz Kuu". The national game "Audarysh" (fighting on horseback) on Tatar horses.

Also there was an open tournament in shooting from the traditional bow (the best archers of the Republic of Tatarstan), demonstration performances of the Turkic martial arts "Beibars", demonstration performances with birds of prey of the Republic of Tatarstan. There were master classes for making pottery, for making Kiez-Kelam, for shoeing horses. There were tours guided around the horse farm, acquaintaning with the Tatar breed of horses, horseback riding, tasting and sale of honey, products of farmers in the area.

At the "Baiga" three races were organized:

The first race "Tai Beige" - horses of the Tatar breed of 2 years. The distance was 3.5 km.

The second run of the Ola Beige”was for horses of 4 years and older (the breed was not mentioned). The distance was 10.5 km.

The third race “Kunan Beige” was for Tatar horses of 3 years old. The distance was 7 km.

Recall that in December of last year, the State Commission of the Russian Federation on Testing and Protecting Plant Breeding Achievements included the Tatar breed of horses in the Federal State Register.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the revival of the historic Tatar horse breed in the republic. For this purpose, there are subsidies provided for their purchase and maintenance. The size of the subsidy provided for reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the purchase of livestock of horses to recreate the historical Tatar breed is 60%, and for reimbursement of the costs associated with keeping the breeding stock - 20 thousand rubles per 1 head of a Tatar horse. It is granted annually while maintaining the breeding stock of Tatar horses. The condition for granting the subsidy is also the fact that recipients have breeding certificates or passports for each horse.
