Rustam Minnikhanov invited the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic to Tatarstan to get acquainted with the agricultural potential of the region

Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman during his working visit to Prague as part of the official delegation of Tatarstan headed by President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov. 

Czech colleagues were briefly told about the agricultural complex of the republic. “Tatarstan takes the 1st place in Russia in milk production and can provide a stable, high-quality raw material base,” Rustam Minnikhanov noted, “in addition, Tatarstan’s agricultural holdings have extensive experience in implementing large-scale investment projects.”

He invited the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic to visit Tatarstan to get acquainted with the agricultural potential of the republic.

In turn, Mr. Miroslav Toman said about the interest of Czech companies specializing in the agro-industrial complex to develop business with Tatarstan partners. He said that he would be pleased to visit Tatarstan during a working visit to Russia tentatively in June of this year. As for the areas of cooperation, Miroslav Toman called such as genetic research in the field of animal husbandry and crop production, modern technologies in the field of agriculture, processing and food industry.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that in the framework of his visit to Tatarstan, his Czech colleagues will certainly learn about not only interesting projects in the field of agriculture, but also the identity of the Tatar people, the rural way of life that has been preserved in the village. The President of the Republic drew attention to the fact that such a trend as the production of halal products is also in demand today. The meeting also discussed issues of food quality control, consumer protection. The Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic recalled that today the Czech Republic has introduced control over livestock products imported from Poland, "in the interests of Czech consumers"
