Marat Akhmetov: “The Volga Region agro-industrial forum is the place for ideas and innovations”

The opening ceremony of the Volga Region agro-industrial forum was carried out in “Kazan Fair” Exhibition Center today. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Chairman at the Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Foodstuff Policy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Takhir Khadeev, Chairman at Tatarstan Association of Farmers and Farmsteads Kamiyar Baitemirov and General Director at OAO “Kazan Fair” Lev Semenov took part in the opening ceremony.

The Volga Region agro-industrial forum includes the 21st international specialized exhibition of “Agro-complex: Interagro. Animed. A Volga Region farmer” and the 18th specialized exhibition of “VolgaProdExpo”. 200 enterprises from 29 regions of Russia, Belorussia, Germany and Poland are taking part in the forum. Representatives of the companies offer a wide range of agricultural machinery, equipment, chemical plant protection agents, veterinary drugs, fertilizers, fodder additives, food.

“It is a useful site for all our producers – from large companies to small size businesses. All of them can learn something new for their effective work. I am applying for the participants, presenting their innovative projects, to find the way and attract our agricultural producers, so that the latter could introduce modern technologies working on fields and farms”, - said Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov in his opening speech.

The current year is quite difficult in terms of finances, noted Vice Prime Minister. “We should find our own internal resources in order to save costs. There are some projects which will help us to succeed with less expenses. Tatarstan should develop. We are to make our AIC stronger. We have no choice. Whatever the prices, the market, the climate, it is necessary to find the solution at all the difficulties. And I trust in our republic”, - he emphasized.

In his greeting speech Chairman at the Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Foodstuff Policy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Takhir Khadeev wished agricultural producers to work hard this year and achieve great results.

Chairman at Tatarstan Association of Farmers and Farmsteads Kamiyar Baitemirov emphasized the importance of the forum. “The participants are demonstrating their achievements useful for agriculture, - he stated. – 2017 proved that the republic had possibilities”.

The Volga Region agro-industrial forum will last through February 16.
