Production on advanced seed processing in the Republic of Tatarstan was discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A session devoted to the production on advanced seed processing in the Republic of Tatarstan took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today. It was held by 1st Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov. General Director Deputy at OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Ilgizar Yakushev, General Director Deputy at AO “Agrosila” Marat Zolin, Director Deputy of the Commercial Department at OAO “Ak Bars” Mikhail Koklin”, State Duma Parliamentary Assistant of the Russian Federation Federal Council Anna Arzhaeva, specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, etc. took part in the session.

“Development of production on advanced seed processing is very important for the Republic of Tatarstan. Under favourable climatic conditions we could produce over 4.5 million tons of seeds every year”, - said Nikolai Titov in his opening speech.

After that, General Director Deputy at OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Ilgizar Yakushev gave a speech. He spoke about the opportunities to create a complex on advanced seed processing in Tatarstan.

According to his words, the program of “Biotechnology Development in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2010-2020@ was developed in 2009. Specialists from Kazan, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg took part in its development.

The program consists of 7 parts with some key projects in each. One of the most important section is “Bio-economics of agriculture” with the project of the complex on advanced seed processing, - said Ilgizar Yakushev. – On the first stage of processing we receive starch, gluten and liquid fruity-glucose. These semi-products can be used in foodstuff industry. However, one of the most promising branches which is being developed all over the world is extraction of fuel ethanol”.

Ilgizar Yakushev noted that according to the project the production capacity of the complex would be 500,000 tons a year with the further perspective to increase it up to 1 million tons. The supposed location is Sviyazhskaya or Chelninskaya zones.

Within the framework of the session, State Duma Parliamentary Assistant of the Russian Federation Federal Council Anna Arzhaeva, Director Deputy of the Commercial Department at OAO “Ak Bars” Holding Company” Mikhail Koklin, etc. also gave speeches.

After that, the participants of the session discussed the opportunities of advanced seed processing and production in the republic, the usage of semi-products and some other issues.
